My parents started making Gelato in Byron Bay in the 80’s. Their ethos was simple; make the finest quality traditional gelato, using only the freshest ingredients, and to serve it with a big smile. Being raised in the Gelateria ensured that I inherited the family ethos. After chasing an aviation career around the country, I eventually settled in Perth. It didn’t take me long to realise that the city lacked quality gelaterias that make real gelato, from scratch, without the use of any ‘short-cut’ powders. So I opened a shop in Fremantle and named it Swan River Gelato.
